Jiangsu cocoon silk industry Unveiled Strategic Alliance

Approved by the Provincial Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, Cocoon Silk Industry has unveiled a strategic alliance for technical innovation. The alliance include three famous universities, three research institutes, as well as the top 10 key cocoon silk enterprises of the province.

Alliance will mainly target industrial technological innovation to form a new Interest Community for joint development,advantages complementary , benefit & risk-sharing .The formation of Alliance will reslove the problems of  Cocoon Silk Industry in science and technology innovation in working alone, inefficiency, resources wastage, the research results not shareed, contribute to high concentration of industry innovation and integration of resources, establish an effective mechanism for  the close link production and research,market-oriented, diversified investment and financing and to promote the transformation of research achievement, to promote the silk industry technological innovation and improvement.

 

India Plans to import 2000 tonnes of silk from China

Indian Textile Minister Maran, said that India plans to import 2,000 tons of high-quality Chinese silk, to be allocated to the country’s famous silk weaving center of Kanchipuram, Varanasi weavers and other places.

Maran said the Kanchipuram and the Varanasi weavers and other places has been complaining about the lack of high-quality silk. He said: "We are planning to import from China, 2,000 tons of high-quality silk for Kanchipuram and the Varanasi weavers and other places use."

Indian government has levied on products of Chinese raw silk 5-year anti-dumping tax to protect the domestic silkworm breeder and weaving workers. As the Central Silk Board and the requirements of related industries, the Indian government impose anti-dumping duty extended to 2014. In addition, the Government of India imposed on silk products 5-year anti-dumping tax.
